It was a cool brisk morning in North Carolina. Paul and Ryan rose at 4:30 am for a day of father-son bonding. They dressed in their camo clothes and slipped on their boots. They loaded the red 4-wheeler in the back of Paul's favorite blue chevy, and headed on their way. It was a long drive for an anxious 10 year old. An hour later they arrived at their destination. They unloaded the 4-wheeler and all their gear and headed out into the cool dark woods. They parked the 4-wheeler a little ways away form the old wooden tree stand and began walking. When they arrived to their destination, they quietly climbed into that tree stand and settled in for a long days hunt. Several hours passed by as they sat quietly in that old stand. Ryan had dozed off. Paul nudged him saying, " I think there are two deer out there!" Ryan raised his muzzleloader and peered through the scope. 125 yards away Ryan spotted the deer. He sighted that deer right in his scope, aimed at the deers shoulder and fired. "BANG" He was so excited, though he wasn't quite sure if he hit her or not. They sat in the stand for about 45 minutes. They climbed down quietly and Ryan began his first tracking. They walked to where the deer were standing, but Ryan could not see any signs of the deer. Paul says to Ryan "keep on walking," so he did. Then about five yards away Ryan saw his great accomplishment. He had hit that doe and she was down. Ryan got excited, saying "yes!!!" He had hit that deer right in the head. "Nice job!" said Paul. He gutted his deer for the first time and loaded it up to have it checked at the check in station. The deer dressed out at 60 lbs. Not a huge deer, but a huge reward for a 10 year old.

Ryan, Great Job! I would have loved to have been there for your great day. Also, Paul and Candy, I really appreciate that you all are holding us up in prayer as you mentioned on my blog. We so appreciate that! And, Paul, I do also want to thank you for taking the time to share some great thoughts on my blog post. We appreciate you and your dear family and are and will continue to pray for you all too. We look forward to coming to the wonderful USA long enough to have the baby. Hopefully God will let us see you all while we are there. Blessings.
