Lots of pictures

Wow! I can't believe there is only 12 days till Christmas. Nor can I believe that it is December. It has been 80 degrees here for the last three days. I can't say that I am complaining after seeing all of the snow back in Ohio. I do miss it some, but it has been nice to go out without a coat, play some football with the boys, and not be frozen. On the other hand I do hope that we get some snow while we are visiting in Oh. for Christmas. Then I can leave it all there and come back to my nice warm N.C.

I also want to say congratulations to my sister-in-law Amy, who graduated from nursing school this week. Way to go Amy. We are very proud of you!

As you can see, the tree is up and the house is decorated for Christmas. I grew up with colored lights on my tree and have decided to keep it that way for my kids. The white lights are very pretty, but I think the colored lights give a little more of excitement to the season. Brandon really enjoyed decorating the tree, as you can tell from the pictures.

Since it was so nice out I took Carson out to play in the grass the other day. I got some really cute pictures of him. He most enjoyed trying to eat the grass. He also found my pots and pans in the cupboard the other day. I think the pic of him in the cupboard is so cute. I can't believe that he will be one year old in just 2 months. It has gone by so fast, but all of us have enjoyed every minute of it.

Merry Christmas to everyone.

We bought Carson a walking toy a few weeks ago. It took him a while, but he is getting the hang of it. I have posted a video. This is the first time I have tried this. Hope it works!0)

Ryan's Big Day

It was a cool brisk morning in North Carolina. Paul and Ryan rose at 4:30 am for a day of father-son bonding. They dressed in their camo clothes and slipped on their boots. They loaded the red 4-wheeler in the back of Paul's favorite blue chevy, and headed on their way. It was a long drive for an anxious 10 year old. An hour later they arrived at their destination. They unloaded the 4-wheeler and all their gear and headed out into the cool dark woods. They parked the 4-wheeler a little ways away form the old wooden tree stand and began walking. When they arrived to their destination, they quietly climbed into that tree stand and settled in for a long days hunt. Several hours passed by as they sat quietly in that old stand. Ryan had dozed off. Paul nudged him saying, " I think there are two deer out there!" Ryan raised his muzzleloader and peered through the scope. 125 yards away Ryan spotted the deer. He sighted that deer right in his scope, aimed at the deers shoulder and fired. "BANG" He was so excited, though he wasn't quite sure if he hit her or not. They sat in the stand for about 45 minutes. They climbed down quietly and Ryan began his first tracking. They walked to where the deer were standing, but Ryan could not see any signs of the deer. Paul says to Ryan "keep on walking," so he did. Then about five yards away Ryan saw his great accomplishment. He had hit that doe and she was down. Ryan got excited, saying "yes!!!" He had hit that deer right in the head. "Nice job!" said Paul. He gutted his deer for the first time and loaded it up to have it checked at the check in station. The deer dressed out at 60 lbs. Not a huge deer, but a huge reward for a 10 year old.

Playing hide-n-seek........

Today I was folding laundry on our bed while Carson was playing on the floor. He was on the other side of the bed when I heard him make a funny noise. Of course, I went over to check on him, but he was not there. He couldn't get out of our room since I had the door closed, so I looked under his crib.. Guess who I found? Carson! He was sitting up under his bed playing. It was so cute that I had to run and get the camera. Here are the pictures of him playing hide-n-seek with Mommy!

I have been tagged......twice!

I have been tagged by Beth and Wilma. Thanks girls.....:) I guess that means that I have to write 7 things about myself. I am also suppose to tag 7 more people, but since everyone that I know has already been tagged, I am not going to be able to do that. So here it goes.....
1.)I live in North Carolina
2.)I have been married to my wonderful husband Paul for 13 years
3.)I have 3 handsome boys: Ryan 10, Brandon 6 and Carson 7 months
4.)I have been a nurse for 12 years
5.)I have two brothers, Butch and Eric, and one sister, Brenda
6.)I love the outdoors, and anything that I can do outside.
7.)I hate housework, always have and probably always will. I would much rather mow the yard!!!!!!

Carson Learning to stand up in his crib!

In the last two weeks Carson has decided that he would like to stand and crawl. I can't believe it. He is only 7 months. He is not suppose to be growing so fast.

I can't believe it!!!

OK! I thought there was something true to this look alike meter, until I tried it with Ryan. There is no way that he looks more like me than Paul. Not that it would be bad if he did, but I really think he is the spitting image of his father. What do ya'all think?

Just some pictures

What fun it is raising three boys. My life has no dull moments. This morning i got in the shower and was going to wash my hair. When I picked up the bottle to get some conditioner I thought it felt awfully heavy, but didn't think nothing of it. When I went to pour out the conditioner, I found my bottle to be full of very cold water. What an awakening at 6:30 a.m. Ryan was standing outside of the bathroom laughing. Here he had filled an old bottle with water and put it in place of my conditioner. He thought that was hilarious. Then today after school we stopped to get gas. Ryan asked if I would get him a drink and some gummy worms, so of course I did. While I was driving home Brandon says, "hey Mom, look!" When I glanced back, I seen two gummy worms hanging from Brandon's nose. I know it is disgusting, but it was really funny at the time. I sure all of you know that they take after their Dad, not their Mom!!!!!

Carson is growing so fast. We bought a new high chair this week and he has started eating baby food. He loves every bit of it. He has also started sitting, which you can see in the picture. Of course, he still loses his balance and falls over. We are all enjoying him tremendously. The boys can't get enough of him.

How blessed I am to have such a fun life!!!!!

Check out my Slide Show!

Paul,
Today is a very special day in our lives. Thank you for giving me thirteen years of your life. It seems impossible to have been that long. We have had the best years together. Sure we have had our rocky roads to cross, but who doesn't. What would marriage be if it was perfect. I think it would probably be pretty boring and not so rewarding. All of the bumps in our lives have only made us stronger as a couple. I love you more than any words can express. I want to watch our children grow together. I would like to be able to fulfill our dream of traveling across the country together someday. I want to grow old with you and sit on the front porch swing or in our rocking chairs side by side. I want most of all to make it to heaven with you someday. I love you Paul and I so wish that I could be with you on our special day! I miss you!

With all my love,
Candy

Busy, Busy, Busy.......

Hey out there,

yeah we are still amongst the living. Life has been very busy and exciting in our neck of the woods. WE have had company three weeks in a row, been to the beach twice, and had Vacation Bible School. It is impossible to blog with all of that going on. We have enjoyed all of our company. Now it is almost time for school to start. Aug. 14 to be exact. It is sooooo sad. I always dread sending the kids back to school. I really enjoy having them home with me. Oh well, that's part of life.....

Here are some updated pictures of our lives. Carson will be 6 months old next week. He has 2 teeth and can roll all over the family room. I think he will be sitting by himself in a couple of weeks. It has gone way too fast. I want him to still be a little baby. Ryan is just an inch away from being 5 ft tall. Brandon is growing like a weed also. He is so tall and skinny. They both are very excited about starting their new school.

Hope you enjoy our pictures.

Check out my Slide Show!

Hey everyone,
Just thought I would update you on our lives. We have been very busy over the past week. My nephew, Jason, and his fiancee', Brittney, came to visit over the 4th of July. They also brought my niece, Morgan, with them. We went to Myrtle Beach for the day. It was so great. We got to hang out on the beach and play in the ocean all day. It is not very often that we get to just hang out as a family. It seems like we always have something to do. Anyway, the kids had a great time. The boys and Morgan played all day.(8 hours non stop) They built sandcastles, swam, used the boogie board, caught crabs, and looked for seashells. Then we went back to the hotel and got cleaned up for fireworks. We made our way back to the beach. It was jam packed. Some places did not even have standing room. We did, however find a place to sit that was not so crowded. The fireworks were spectacular. The best we have ever seen. It seemed like they lasted forever. The grande finale was awesome. Carson just loved the fireworks. We thought that he would be scared of the loud noises, but he was not. He watched them the entire time. I can't wait to go back next year!!

Jason and Brittney left on Friday afternoon. We really enjoyed having them here with us. I hope the get to come again!

Paul has been very busy at work, but has managed to work in time for golf and tennis. He really enjoys both. He even took Brandon and Ryan with him on Friday night. They thought that was the greatest. The one thing they enjoy more than anything else is hanging out with their Dad.

I have posted a slide show of a few of our pics from the beach and Jason and Brittneys visit. Hope you enjoy them and hope you have a great day.

Hey everyone,
Sorry it has been so long since I have added to my blog. We have been very busy since we have been back from Ohio. We had a great trip. It was so nice to see everyone. Now we are excited about everyone coming to see us. Today Paul's Uncle Lowell and his family stopped by on their way to S.C. We were able to visit for a few hours and have lunch with them. Next week my nephew and his fiancee will be here. Then we have VBS and the next week my sister and her family will be here. Tonight we are going up town to our town festival and watching fireworks.

We celebrated Brandon's birthday this week. It is hard to believe that my little miracle boy is now 6 years old. His birthday brings back lots of memories and reminds us to be thankful for everything God has given us, since he really shouldn't be here with us now. He is so special. I am sure that God has something special in mind for him when he grows up.

Hope everyone is doing well. I will try to keep up with my posts, if I can. See ya!

Beach Trip, Carolina Beach, NC

Hey Everyone,
Sorry it took so long to get this posted. We have been sooooo busy that I have not had time. We left Wednesday at 3pm for Ryan's class beach trip. We traveled about 31/2 hours to Carolina Beach right outside of Wilmington, Nc. We got there at about 8pm. Or hotel was the Marriott and it was gorgeous. It is only a couple of years old. The room was great and we had a beautiful ocean view. We walked down to the beach that night. the pics of Brandon in the dark would be from our first night there. This trip was the first time that the boys had been to the ocean. Brandon thought it was great. Thursday morning we got up and went to the aquarium. It was nice. I will put up some pictures from there later. From there Ryan and his class went crabbing. Paul got to along. Brandon, Carson and I went back to the hotel to swim. They had a great time crabbing. They took a big boat out to an Island where they gave them a rope with a net on the end. They put a piece of fish in the net and tossed it out in the water. The crab would crawl in the net to get the fish and that is how they would catch them. It sounds easy, but it is not. Out of about 60 people, they only caught two crabs. Paul had one in his net and it was starting to get away, so he tried to throw it up on the shore. The only thing that came out of that was muck all over on of the boy's dad's shirt.LOL:0) They had to walk through muck up to their ankles. The girls were not impressed. Thankfully it did stop raining while they were out on the Island. After crabbing they took the kids to Golden Corral for dinner. Paul and I went to the boardwalk and ate at a place called Old Salty's. I had a delicious steak and Paul and Brandon shared crab legs and shrimp. After dinner the kids had some free time on the beach, but were not allowed to get in the water. Of course, my son and husband ended up in a beach baseball game. It rained the entire time they were out there, but they didn't care.
Friday morning we headed into Wilmington to tour the USS North Carolina Battleship. It was very cool. We walked on 9 different levels of the ship. It was so huge that I couldn't even get a picture of the entire ship. Paul said he thought that it was the neatest thing he had ever seen. Brandon was very excited, also. He wanted to see every room and had to know how many men slept in that room. Some of the rooms had thirty beds in them. Of course, with my interest in medicine, I thought it was very cool to see were they did surgery. I can't imagine living on a ship like that.
The battleship ended the school trip, so we took Ryan with us and headed back to the beach. We really wanted to spend the day there, but it was just too windy for Carson. He couldn't' hardly catch his breath, so we had to come on home. However, we do plan to make another trip there when the weather forecast is better. We did have a great time, though. It was so pretty and relaxing.

Saturday we had baseball games. Brandon just loves to play ball. He would play all day if we would let him. Ryan had an excellent game. He pitched for 3 1/2 innings until he dove for a ball and hurt his knee. After that he hit an in the park home run. It was so fun to watch, even though they lost. When we left the game Ryan told us his throat was sore. When I looked I knew immediately that he had strep. Unfortunately all of the urgent cares were closed, so we had to wait until Sunday to take him. We got there ten minutes before they were suppose to open and there was already a 2 hour wait. So we waited and then waited an hour to get his rx. He stayed home from school today because his throat was very sore. I think the medicine is starting to kick in, though. He seems a little better since this morning.

So that was my weekend. I have rambled on long enough. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

C ya,
Candy

Happy Mother's Day Mom!!!

Mom this posting is dedicated to you. This will be the first Mother's Day that I could not be with you. That makes me very sad. I am very happy though, that I was special enough to be your daughter. I love you more than words could ever express. Even though I am not there in person I am there in my heart. I love you Mom. Hope you have a great Mother's Day!!!

Love,
Candy

Mother's Day Tea!

Today was Mother's Day Tea at Brandon's school. The kids sang some very cute songs for us. Brandon was so funny. He had a big smile on his face the entire time. I am so proud to be his Mom. After the program Brandon gave me a rose and very special picture that he made for me. Then he served me cookies. What a sweetheart. The children had also made pictures and hung them on the wall in the hallway of the school. The teachers wrote on them: "I love my Mommy because..." and the children had to finish the sentence. Brandon said "because my Mommy gives me hugs!" I thought that was the sweetest thing he could have said. It just goes to show that it is the love you give your children that matters more than any material thing you coud ever give them. I love you Brandon! Thanks for the special day!

Ryan's Field Day

Ryan had his field day at school yesterday. It was a lot of fun watching them play all of the different games that the school had for them. I was the only Mom from Ryan's class that came to watch. Can you believe that? I posted some good pictures showing all of the fun that Ry had. They also got cotton candy and snow cones. He also got to come home with me early. I think he thought that was the best part of all. Only 11 more days of school left. I can't wait!!:@)
