Hey Everyone,
Sorry it took so long to get this posted. We have been sooooo busy that I have not had time. We left Wednesday at 3pm for Ryan's class beach trip. We traveled about 31/2 hours to Carolina Beach right outside of Wilmington, Nc. We got there at about 8pm. Or hotel was the Marriott and it was gorgeous. It is only a couple of years old. The room was great and we had a beautiful ocean view. We walked down to the beach that night. the pics of Brandon in the dark would be from our first night there. This trip was the first time that the boys had been to the ocean. Brandon thought it was great. Thursday morning we got up and went to the aquarium. It was nice. I will put up some pictures from there later. From there Ryan and his class went crabbing. Paul got to along. Brandon, Carson and I went back to the hotel to swim. They had a great time crabbing. They took a big boat out to an Island where they gave them a rope with a net on the end. They put a piece of fish in the net and tossed it out in the water. The crab would crawl in the net to get the fish and that is how they would catch them. It sounds easy, but it is not. Out of about 60 people, they only caught two crabs. Paul had one in his net and it was starting to get away, so he tried to throw it up on the shore. The only thing that came out of that was muck all over on of the boy's dad's shirt.LOL:0) They had to walk through muck up to their ankles. The girls were not impressed. Thankfully it did stop raining while they were out on the Island. After crabbing they took the kids to Golden Corral for dinner. Paul and I went to the boardwalk and ate at a place called Old Salty's. I had a delicious steak and Paul and Brandon shared crab legs and shrimp. After dinner the kids had some free time on the beach, but were not allowed to get in the water. Of course, my son and husband ended up in a beach baseball game. It rained the entire time they were out there, but they didn't care.
Friday morning we headed into Wilmington to tour the USS North Carolina Battleship. It was very cool. We walked on 9 different levels of the ship. It was so huge that I couldn't even get a picture of the entire ship. Paul said he thought that it was the neatest thing he had ever seen. Brandon was very excited, also. He wanted to see every room and had to know how many men slept in that room. Some of the rooms had thirty beds in them. Of course, with my interest in medicine, I thought it was very cool to see were they did surgery. I can't imagine living on a ship like that.
The battleship ended the school trip, so we took Ryan with us and headed back to the beach. We really wanted to spend the day there, but it was just too windy for Carson. He couldn't' hardly catch his breath, so we had to come on home. However, we do plan to make another trip there when the weather forecast is better. We did have a great time, though. It was so pretty and relaxing.
Saturday we had baseball games. Brandon just loves to play ball. He would play all day if we would let him. Ryan had an excellent game. He pitched for 3 1/2 innings until he dove for a ball and hurt his knee. After that he hit an in the park home run. It was so fun to watch, even though they lost. When we left the game Ryan told us his throat was sore. When I looked I knew immediately that he had strep. Unfortunately all of the urgent cares were closed, so we had to wait until Sunday to take him. We got there ten minutes before they were suppose to open and there was already a 2 hour wait. So we waited and then waited an hour to get his rx. He stayed home from school today because his throat was very sore. I think the medicine is starting to kick in, though. He seems a little better since this morning.
So that was my weekend. I have rambled on long enough. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
C ya,
Candy
